Christy Emilio Ioannidou was born and lives in the City of Athens. She studied psychology, etymology and history. She is a writer - Researcher of Maritime History. She has participated in Greek and foreign documentaries as well as in workshops, lectures, and conferences in Greece and abroad. She has been honoured from time to time with various
commendations and awards for her research in maritime history, which include the First Class Award in Natural Sciences from the Academy of Athens. She is the creator and
manager of the blog Peri Alos www.perialos.blogspot.gr, founding member and member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute of Nautical History (E.L.I.N.I.S.), member of the
Greek Submarine Association (ELSYB) and the Society for Historical Studies "Koryvantes." She is married to journalist and defence analyst Ioannis S. Theodorato with whom they have a daughter.
